Well it seems like it was only a year ago when we were talking about Crysis and and the CryEngine 3, well it seems that GDC this year was all the buzz again with the CryEngine 3, well Crytek doesn't disappoint again. This year they unveiled the CryEngine 3 Tech demo (pretty different from last years preview) which shows a little more than the its previous one.
Crysis 2 will be a change of pace for console gaming, pushing the bar higher and the expectations, hopefully it delivers on game-play and story plus, not only that, but open more windows into modding options since you can do mapping for PC and port it to 360 and PS3.
Which could open a door to MechWarrior: Living Legends for a multi-platform modification.
Plus we get a reveal that Prophet is back and the only way to achieve peace is to prepare for war.
The setting: New York
Primal Carnage
Among many things at GDC this year, there was a tech promo for a game that has an interesting assortment of characters. Utilizing the Unigine engine that has a cross-platform real-time 3D engine utilizing dx11 and tessalization, it will be the closest engine competing with the CE3 (that is, if Halo: Reach doesn't have anything to say). The game that is in the works, is Primal Carnage:
An fps Multi-player game, where players can choose to be dinosaurs or humans.
This will be a game in a genre by its self. (Unless Dino D-Day has something similar in development)
Still Alive?
Portal 2 was announced this month in an interesting way, first there was an update to Portal and there were a couple of additions made to the game for example the radio now has a hidden frequency transmitting in Morse code.
More interesting and rather, let's say, different is the updated radio sound when you throw the radio in the electric force field.
Here's what it sounds like back wards:
Plus they changed the ending to Portal and they've announced Portal 2.
And at GDC Gabe Newell received the Pioneer award. After his speech he was going to show some Portal 2 images then the Blue Screen of Death occurred and there was something fishy about it.

Copycat?
Alright, a couple of you may remember a game that sorta looked like Team Fortress 2 and blatantly resembled (I even called it on copying Army Men, just for a statement made at the beginning about "Toys having a private war")
Some of the fps community notices that Battle Territory resembles Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2:
Which the artwork somewhat resembles that of MW2's one can see a very strong resemblance. Especially with the "armed conflict" with Russia and America
Modern Warfare 2:
Now enjoy this game-play video of Battle Territory: Battle Battery and compare for yourself.
