_{I can't get Jurassic Park FileFront back online without Dennis Nedry the founders}

Filefront has been reacquired by the original founders of the site and will be back online. This was announced yesterday, I neglected to put this on the news, due to the fact that yesterday was April fool's day, if you saw x-fire's site, they turned it into "gaming horrified". Well, they proved it wasn't a prank.

After learning about Ziff Davis Media's plan to shut down FileFront at the end of March, the original founders of FileFront made the decision to buy it back from Ziff Davis Media.

We're happy to announce to the gaming community that as of today, April 1st, 2009, FileFront is a completely independent company again and is no longer part of Ziff Davis Media. All previously suspended services should be active and working again. We thank Ziff Davis Media for their cooperation and willingness to keep the site and community alive.

It's good to hear that, I'm sure everyone can agree, that the gaming community, would be in a bad way, without filefront.

Pranks Galore!
X-fire had a field day with David Hasselhoff

RunningGunStudios Decided to release episode 14 of Spriggs! which is a Halo 3 Machinima, which turned out to be a prank.

They released a video a few hours after the prank apologizing to the fans.

Another Machinima tried to do the same, except this was more "official" Freeman's Mind released a continuation of the last episode, titled 10.5, where Gordon tries to jump to a ladder and falls to his death. It was later revealed that it was a outright fabrication.

In the modding community Black Mesa announced yesterday in a podcast that they were going to change to the main theme of Black Mesa.

Team Fortress 2 decided to cash in.

"A sneak preview of the next class update!"
Which we highly doubt.

Hey guys it Redskins, releasing the last article for this month.
I hope you enjoy my take on the new Survival mode for Left 4 Dead.

Last week Valve released the long anticipated DLC for PC and Xbox360 users, free of charge.

As a added bonus, the SDK for PC users will also be released this weekend or next week, finally allowing the more creative players of L4D to create their own campaigns, maps and more. Like the Dead Before Dawn Campaign or I Hate Mountains! mod for L4D.

The DLC includes the other two campaigns for Versus mode,* Death Toll and Dead Air, and a new game mode Survival mode.

I will now be reviewing the new Survival mode*

The new update took around 8 minutes for me to download, and boy was it worth the wait.

Starting up L4D after the update finished, I was greeted with a new background to the menu, zombies shuffling around a shining lighthouse! Excited to play the map, I started a quick match on Survival.

The loading screen with the new poster pops up and immediately I notice something, Zoey seems to look extremely different.... Maybe it's just me, or my almost stalker like feelings toward Zoey, but her face is defiantly different....

My obsession with Zoey aside, I load up quickly and jump into play. At spawn Valve has treated you to more gas and propane tanks then you would need in your lifetime, and scattered around the lighthouse are even more tanks and almost hundreds of Molotov's and pipe bombs.

I can see this is going to be fun.

Gas tanks, Med Packs, Pipe Bombs Oh My!


The game mode is much like a endless Finale. You have as long as you want to "set up shop", setting up the generous amount of gas tanks and propane tanks for use later on to create barriers of fire or to cut down on-coming hordes numbers.

When your team is ready, you go turn on the pump and on comes the horde.


Let's hit that baby and kick some zombie ass.

Immediately you hear a roar of zombies, and frantically scramble up to where your teammates are already firing at the oncoming horde.


Like this, except thirsting for your blood.

Things get hectic fast, with special zombies spawning almost one second behind each other, and tanks coming into the picture at only 50 seconds.


Note the timer, only 56 seconds and a tank?!?! Rice isn't made that fast!!!!!!!

You can kill the tank easily enough by the good old method of Molotov and shooting and running, but once again not a minute later another tank spawns!

In the end me and my team ended up lasting a whole 2 minutes and 37 seconds. Which is baffling since I felt as though the round had lasted 10 minutes instead of 2!

In the end, Survival mode is extremely fun and difficult if you and your team aren't 110% focused,and is a fun addition to L4D. It will be great to see what the modders and mappers come up with to supplement this game mode.

Unfortunately, with all those gas tanks and Molotov's lying around, you are bound to run into a lot of players who will shoot the gas tanks or throw all the mollies. But if you find a good team you are bound to have a great time.

And hey, it's free?

I'd like to award the new Survival game-mode a 10/10

I'd like to also announce that steam is going to be letting gamers try the full copy of Left 4 Dead for free this Friday.
They have called it "Freaky Friday"

Beginning Friday at 12:01 am GMT, the PC version of Left 4 Dead will be available for a free 24-hour trial via Steam. The free trial will include access to the recently released Survival Pack DLC, which introduces a new multi-player game mode and two additional Versus campaigns. Those who wish to give L4D and the Survival Pack a try may now pre-load everything needed to play with no obligation to purchase.
